Quirks

Sarah tagged for me listing some of my quirks, so here goes:

1. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is open the blinds. I feel like the day can't start unless I can see outside. I close the blinds as soon as the girls go to bed at night. I guess it signifies the end of my day.

2. Another light issue: I HATE overhead lights and almost never turn them on. I would rather sit in a dim room than have overhead lights. I go crazy when I walk in the house and all the lights are on.

3. I hate milk chocolate. I adore dark chocolate.

4. When I was breastfeeding and pumping, I would almost obsessively keep up with the number of ounces I had pumped that day. I had this huge fear that I would never have enough milk even though my freezer was full. I think I am just a counter. When I am dieting, I calculate and recalculate the calories I've consumed throughout the day.

5. I am ultra competitive but totally afraid of confrontation. I'll fight tooth and nail to win a board game, but will leave notes instead of talking when in a real-life argument. My best friend and I have been known to have fights without talking because we would leave post-it notes on each other's doors in our apartment in college. Not because of her, but because I would just refuse to talk. I'm pretty embarrassed to admit this actually. But it is definitely a quirk.

6. I can't watch a whole movie or even a thirty minute television show without also being on the computer. I think the fast-paced, always changing world of the internet has made me unable to sit still and pay attention to just one thing.

I don't know who to tag to do this because it seems like everyone has already been tagged. If you are interested, let me know.

Love your thoughts! I too can not stand shut blinds! My husband is all into "saving energy" so he cuts off all the lights in the house and it drives me NUTS!

I am kind of OCD about the pumping thing too and always worring about running out of milk. When I pick him up I ask how much he ate while I was at work and if I didn't pump as much as he ate I get worried but if I pumped more, I get excited.

I haven't counted calories in years, but I did it obsessively when I was in high school. I retained a lot of it, so I can pretty much guess how many I'm eating, sometimes I don't want to know and it sucks that I do.

I was going to tag you when I first did my post like this, but I didn't think you'd do it. I figured you have your hands full these days, but I'm glad you did it for Sarah. It's always good to know your not the only one who does crazy stuff.

I love this! I am the EXACT same way about blinds...AND overhead lights! They drive me nuts. You are so "visual" (like me)...guess that's why you are the best photographer on the planet!

I don't like overhead lights either, too harsh.
